The Town of Rossville will honor 40 veterans with ties to the community during the dedication of its first Rossville Veterans Banner Program on Sunday, November 1, at 1:30 p.m. at Lafayette Park on Highway 194 near the railroad tracks.

The veterans’ banners will line Highway 194 throughout November. The program recognizes veterans who live in Rossville, have lived here, or have a significant connection to the town. “Many of us know a veteran personally—a family member, a friend, a neighbor, or someone who has served alongside us,” said Rossville Alderman Jeff Wooden, who brought the program to Rossville. “I wanted our town to have a way to recognize these men and women and let them know that we appreciate their service.”

The dedication ceremony will include remarks from local leaders, a keynote address by retired Marine Corps Major General James S. Hartsell, a performance of the National Anthem by Skyy Jordan, a talented local singer who has performed at nationally recognized venues such as Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center, and recognition of the 40 veterans being honored. Many of the honorees are expected to attend the ceremony in person. The ceremony will conclude with Taps.

The public is invited to attend the ceremony and join the community in thanking these veterans for their service to our country.
