Fire Chief Jason Stuart is an accomplished fire service leader and United States Marine Corps veteran with more than 25 years of experience in public safety.
Throughout his distinguished career with the Memphis Fire Department, Chief Stuart advanced through the ranks, gaining extensive expertise in special operations, emergency management, and organizational leadership. He served in several key leadership roles, including Chief of Special Operations, Division Chief, Chief of Staff, and Program Manager for Tennessee Task Force 1, one of FEMA’s Urban Search and Rescue teams.
Chief Stuart has responded to numerous major disasters and large-scale emergency incidents across the country, including Hurricanes Harvey and Michael, as well as the devastating floods in Kerrville, Texas. His dedication to service, leadership, and operational excellence has earned him several honors, including the Life Saving Medal.
Following his retirement from the Memphis Fire Department, Chief Stuart continues his service with Tennessee Task Force 1 as a Task Force Leader. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, is a graduate of the National Fire Academy’s Executive Fire Officer Program, and is a State of Tennessee Certified Municipal Finance Officer.
Chief Stuart’s career reflects a lifelong commitment to public safety, emergency response, strong leadership, and service to others. As Fire Chief for the Town of Rossville, his highest priorities are delivering fast, professional, and dependable public safety services to the citizens and visitors of Rossville while safeguarding the health, safety, and well-being of the firefighters who proudly serve the community.
