Waste Collection

Dear Valued Customer:

As of September 1, 2016, the contract for Solid Waste and Yard Waste in the Town of Rossville has been awarded to Waste Connections of TN, Inc. We currently service the Town of Rossville for your solid waste services and are pleased to be able to continue this service to our customers. Waste Connections was founded in 1997 and has rapidly moved to one of the top three waste companies in the United States. Our headquarters are located in The Woodlands, Texas, and we have operations in 31 states. Our Regional office is located in Houston, Texas and our District office is located in Memphis. We have additional offices throughout the southeastern portion of the United States including Tennessee, Texas, Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi. Waste Connections trains its employees to provide excellent service to our customers, while keeping public safety as our number one priority.

Waste Connections is pleased to offer weekly solid waste, yard waste and bulk collection to the residents of Rossville. Yard waste disposal items includes grass clippings, leaves, tree limbs, etc. See below.

Acceptable Yard Waste:

• Larger tree trimmings (twigs/branches) not to exceed 5 feet in length and 5” in diameter.
• Small tree trimmings, grass, leaves, stems, stalks, flowers not to exceed 2 feet in length and less than 2” in diameter to be placed in a container or bag.
• Maximum weight of any item placed out for yard waste shall be 35 lbs.
• Yard waste is to be unlimited in volume, however should meet specifications as listed above.

Unacceptable Yard Waste:

• No sod
• No sand or dirt
• No rocks or cement

Acceptable Bulk Waste:

• With the exception of household furniture and white goods, bulk collection is limited to 2 cubic yards per week per customer.
• Bulk items for removal; typical household furniture, wood fencing, washing machines, furniture, and other similar items.
• No hazardous waste material such as; paint, Freon, batteries, grease, motor oil, pesticides, spray cans, car batteries, etc.

With this transition, please note that your service day will be changing.

Your service day will be FRIDAY.

Your first pick up day will be FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 1, 2016.

Please have your cart out by 6am on your service day.

Place your garbage cart away from any obstructions on your service day.
